This gastronomic endeavor has brought me to all neighborhoods in this great city, and here are my favorite foods in Manhattan. The order is random but all are #1 specific winners in each category.

Murry's Bagels

Chunchy top with soft chewy center, and a lovely brown color.

Joe's Pizza

If the long lines didn't impress you, then the thin-crust with fresh home-made tomato sauce and mozzarella will.

Magnolia Bakery

OK so there're famous from Sex and the City, and responsible for long lines, but you won't find a fresher or tastier cupcake.

Yohah Schimmel's Knish

This 100-year old institution is the last knish baker standing on the Lower East Side, have the potato, its soft in the center with a light pastry shell baked to perfection.

The Best Chocolate Cake in the World

Flour-less chocolate cake made with layers of chocolate moose, chocolate meringue, and chocolate ganache, try it you'll like it.

2nd Avenue Deli

Hot dogs from a grey water food vendor, fuhgetabouit! This is the real deal, all beef, secret spices, juicy, with that unforgetable snap.

Prosperity Dumplings

This restaurant is the size of an elevator, but the pork dumplings are huge. A delicious bargain at 5 for 1 dollar.

Junior's Cheesecake

They've been baking this winner for over 60 years, and have it down pat. Best to let it sit 1 hour before eating.

Rocco's Cannoli

Have the mini, a little taste of heaven in your mouth, piped fresh when you order.

L'Arte del Gelato

Made in small batches, incredibly fresh with an excellent assortment of flavors, including sorbets.
